This  Blogger XML sitemap will help the search engine spiders to crawl your site very fast and much easier than before.

So your blog will be indexed in the Google much faster and will bring more traffic and page views. But there is no Plugin to create Blogspot XML Sitemaps for blogger blogs like WordPress Google XML sitemap Plugin. That’s why I’ve created the new Blogger XML Sitemap Generator for all blogger users.

What is an XML Sitemap?

First, let me answer the question: What is an XML Sitemap?

A sitemap provides an overview of your website’s structure. It’s created to help search engines uncover all of your live content — including new URLs and recently updated posts.

The XML part refers to the markup language used to communicate additional information to the search engines — such as when a page published, or when it was last updated.

Generate Blogger Sitemap

By following your sitemap, search engines can crawl and index your entire site — unless you choose to attach a noindex tag to a page. This means a sitemap is the only way to guarantee that all (required) content hits the search engines.

Consider the alternative: With no sitemap, search engines have to stumble across your website, possibly by chance, or, more likely, as a result of inbound links.

The crawlers may still index some of your pages this way, especially if your site well organized with lots of internal links. However, there is no guarantee that every post and page will be indexed. Indexing is likely to happen far more slowly, too.

While sitemaps do not boost your search rankings, it allows search engines to crawl your website better.

How to Create an XML Sitemap with Blogger

If you have moved to the custom domain or using Blogspot domain, just create the XML sitemap, by using the following steps.

Step 1: Just Go to our Blogger XML Generator Page to create sitemap for your blog.

Blogger Sitemap Generator

Step 2: Enter the correct URL in the text box of the XML Sitemap Creator and click the Generate Sitemap Button. That’s it your blog sitemap generated immediately. Then Copy the entire code there.

Generate XML Sitemaps

Step 3: Next, Go to your Blogger Dashboard, and choose your blog, then click the settings in the left pane and select the search Preferences page.

Blogger Custom robots txt

Step 4: Click the “Yes” Radio button in the Custom Robots.txt and paste the copied XML Sitemap Code. Finally, click the Save Changes button. That’s it.

Now your blog has XML Sitemap and that also saved in the Robots.txt. Now Google, Bing, Yahoo whenever reads the Robots.txt, it will find your XML Sitemap and then crawl your blog based on the robots.txt.

Happy blogging!  More Plugins still to come, Keep visit and stay updated.  Thanks.

How to Tell Search Engines About Your XML Sitemap

Now that you’ve created your sitemaps, there’s one more thing you need to do:

Tell search engines exactly where they can find it.

By showing search engines where you keep your sitemap, you ensure they find it, which means they’ll know whenever you publish changes to it and your site.

To submit your sitemap to Google, you’ll need to sign up at Google Search Console (formerly called Google Webmaster Tools) and follow their instructions for submitting a sitemap.

The process is quite similar for submitting your sitemap to Bing. You’ll need to sign up at Bing Webmaster Tools and then submit your sitemap by following their directions. today match predictions

XML Sitemap vs HTML Sitemaps

XML Sitemap is the most common implementation. They’re exactly what I discussed above – a map dedicated almost entirely to search engines. Their data isn’t useful to humans, so the only reason to create one is to boost your indexing.

HTML Sitemap, on the other hand, can be used by both people and search engines. It’s an actual page on your website where humans and search engines can get a high-level overview of all the content your site offers. Search engines can still crawl this page, but it also gives some curious visitors a better user experience.

So which type should you use?

The answer is BOTH. It’s not an either/or question. They don’t conflict, and both types offer benefits. If you don’t believe me, check out former Google SEO guru Matt Cutts talking about why you should include both XML and HTML sitemaps:

Sitemaps are a quick and simple way to improve your Blogger Site. Creating an XML sitemap will make it easier for search engines to crawl and index all of your content. And HTML sitemaps can similarly improve crawl ability while also boosting the user experience for some users who prefer getting a bird’s eye view of your site. Read also kwfinder review

At the very minimum, you should create an XML sitemap and submit it to Google and Bing. But if you have the time, I also encourage you to consider adding an HTML sitemap to cover all your bases.

How to Protect your WordPress Blog using .htaccess https://mukeshmali.com/protect-your-wordpress-blog-using-htaccess https://mukeshmali.com/protect-your-wordpress-blog-using-htaccess#respond Tue, 09 May 2017 00:35:38 +0000 https://mukeshmali.com/?p=45 I’ve moved my blog, Mukesh Mali from Blogger to WordPress by myself a few months ago and it was a great learning experience. WordPress is no doubt a great blogging platform and I certainly have no regrets on making the move. As many blog owners know (and some of them may have learned the hard way), there are many potential security problems with any blog or website. This is also true with regard to WordPress blogs. In this article, you will learn some easy and simple to apply ways that help you protect your WordPress blog. Implementing them on your blog is a significant step towards making it secure.

When you have an active blog, the last thing you want to stop and worry about is security. Nevertheless, WordPress security is very important to the safety and longevity of your blog. Using WordPress’ .htaccess file, you can tighten your blog’s security and not have to worry about its safety.

What is a .htaccess File?

The .htaccess file is a configuration file for use on web servers running the Apache Web Server software. When a .htaccess file is placed in a directory which is in turn “loaded via the Apache Web Server”, then the .htaccess file is detected and executed by the Apache Web Server software. It is often used to specify the security restrictions for the particular directory.

Create a blank .htaccess file. This can be done in Notepad or a comparable simple text editor of your choice (no MS Word does not count although it’s possible). Open Notepad and Click Save, name this file htaccess.txt. If you’re using Windows XP the OS won’t allow you to name a file e .htaccess but don’t worry, you can rename it once it’s been uploaded to your server (no idea how Linux, Vista or OSX handle this).

Protect your WordPress using htaccess

In this article I’m going to show you how to strengthen your site’s security by adding/changing a few lines in this file. Before you make any changes, it might be a good idea to take a backup of your .htaccess. If something gets messed up, you can always replace the hacked .htaccess with the original one.

Prevent Access To wp-content

The wp-content folder contains images, themes and plug-ins and it’s a very important folder within your WordPress install, so it makes sense to prevent outsiders accessing it.

This requires it’s very own .htaccess file which must be added to the wp-content folder, it allows users to see images, CSS etc … but protects the important PHP files:

Order deny,allow
Deny from all
<Files ~ ".(xml|css|jpe?g|png|gif|js)$">
Allow from all
</Files>

Restrict Access to WP Admin directory by IP Address

If you are running a single user blog site, there is no reason to allow others to access WordPress administration panel. You can protect your WP admin from unauthorized access by listing your static IP address in the .htaccess. Here’s the trick

order deny,allow allow
from 117.212.28.23 (replace with your IP address)
deny from all

Disable Hotlinking

Sometimes another site may directly link images from your site. It saves hard disk space by not having to store the images. But your site ends up serving the requests for them, thus using up your precious bandwidth. This is known as ‘hotlinking’. To disable this you can add these lines to the .htaccess

#disable hotlinking of images with forbidden or custom image option
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www.)?yourdomain.com/.*$ [NC]
#RewriteRule .(gif|jpg)$ – [F]
RewriteRule .(gif|jpg)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/stealingisbad.gif [R,L]

Stop Spammers

Like hotlinking, spammers are notorious to use up your site’s resources. There are a number of ways to identify a potential spammer. One of them is to detect requests with ‘no referrer’. Spammers use bots to post comments on blogs and they come from ‘nowhere’. Add these lines to stop the spammers

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} POST
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} .wp-comments-post.php*
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !.*yourblog.com.* [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^$
RewriteRule (.*) ^http://%{REMOTE_ADDR}/$ [R=301,L]

Rewrite URLs

Many content management systems and scripts use very long URLs containing instruction codes and session IDs. You can limit those with search-engine-friendly rewritten URLs, thanks to Apache’s mod_rewrite module and an .htaccess file.

RewriteRule ^documents/([0-9]+)(.*).html$ documents.php?id=$1

Protect WP-Config

wp-config.php is the file in your root directory that stores information about your site as well as database details, this file in particular we would not want to fall into the wrong hands.

In your .htaccess add the following to prevent any access to the wp-config.php file:

# protect wpconfig.php
<Files wp-config.php>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</Files>

Disable Directory Browsing

Someone who knows the directory structure of a WordPress installation, may use his knowledge to do some damage. Besides you should not let them know what plug-ins are you using.

# disable directory browsing
Options All -Indexes

Protect .htaccess itself!

Last thing you want after spending so much time protecting your site with .htaccess, is to leave the file itself open to attack. The following hack prevents external access to any file starting with .hta

# protect the htaccess file
<files .htaccess>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</files>

That’s it for now. Remember to test, test and test every time you make changes to your .htaccess file (go to your site, is it still up?). Hope you find these tips useful. Happy blogging!

How to Rank Higher in YouTube Search Results in 2017 https://mukeshmali.com/how-to-rank-higher-in-youtube-search-results https://mukeshmali.com/how-to-rank-higher-in-youtube-search-results#respond Sat, 11 Feb 2017 05:23:51 +0000 https://mukeshmali.com/?p=84 YouTube SEOAll we know that YouTube is second biggest search engine on the planet after google, it generates an estimate 92 billion page view each month which also provides huge traffic to different websites and blogs, and about 35 hours of video are uploaded every minute.
YouTube also offers you to monetize your videos content, if you are getting enough view you can make good money from your YouTube videos.

  • Do you want more people to see your YouTube videos?
  • Have you optimized your videos for search?

If people can’t find you, they can’t watch your videos or subscribe to your channel, which hurts your search ranking. In this article you’ll find four ways to tweak your videos to rank higher in YouTube Search. Today I’m going to show you the ins and outs of YouTube SEO, including how you can rank videos in both Google and YouTube.

Like Google, YouTube uses ranking factors to determine which videos end up at the top of each search results page (SERP). YouTube looks at your video’s number of views, how long users watch it and how many positive ratings and comments it has.

For good measure, they also throw in the number of channel subscribers, how many times your video appears in a user’s playlist, how often it’s added to a favorites list or playlist and how many times it’s been embedded on a website.

To get the high numbers YouTube is looking for, you need to optimize your content so people click through and push Play. And I’m not just talking about your video content. What matters here are your keywords, title, description and tags. It’s a lot to consider if you’re trying to get your YouTube channel on the front page of YouTube Search. But hey, now that you know what they’re looking for, you can give it to them.

Below are four ways to get your YouTube videos ready for Prime Time.

#1: Choose Strong Keywords

You’re familiar with how important keywords are. Choosing the right keywords can be the difference between high visibility and page five of the SERPs (and you know nobody gets all the way to page five).

YouTube Video Keywords

While YouTube can do a lot of things, it can’t search the content within your video to find keywords, so you’ll have to add them yourself. If you need help choosing the best keywords, use the YouTube Keyword Tool to find out which ones don’t have a lot of competition.

Google trends to use video results for these types of keywords:

  • How-to keywords (“how to shave a cat”)
  • Reviews (“Bluehost review”)
  • Tutorials (“Setting up WordPress”)
  • Anything fitness or sports related (“Cardio kickboxing”)
  • Funny videos (“Cute animals”)

Your keywords help YouTube determine if your content is relevant, and they help your audience know what your video is about. Be sure to include them in your title, description and tags.

As a general rule, use about 10 tags that include the video category, video content, shoot location and names of anyone in the video.

#2: Include Keywords in Your Title

Your title should tell viewers exactly what they can expect to see in your video. That can be harder than it sounds.

Is your title too long? People lose interest and ignore you. Is your title too short? People don’t know if it’s what they’re looking for and they ignore you.

Ideally, your title should have around 120 characters—enough to tell people what they’re watching, but not so much they overlook it.

For instance, a video entitled My Cat won’t really grab users’ attention because it’s fundamentally uninteresting. (I mean, how many cat videos have you seen in your lifetime?)

YouTube Video Title

A title with a more accurate description of your video’s content—My Cat Trying to Eat a Shoe—encourages users to click over and watch. The titles above are examples of good, clear titles.

As you craft your title, add a keyword phrase at the beginning, especially if you’re doing a series. For example: “Healthy Cupcakes: Gluten-Free Bananas Foster,” “Healthy Cupcakes: Sugar-free Cinnamon,” “Healthy Cupcakes: How to Avoid Cracked Tops” and so on.

#3: Optimize the Description With Keywords

When writing your video description, weave in your vital keywords naturally. As long as the description flows and isn’t forced, you’ll be OK.

If you overuse your keywords in a spammy way (that’s called stuffing and it’s poor etiquette), you’ll hurt your chances of climbing up YouTube’s SERPs. In the example below, the description uses several keywords, but they work together without feeling forced.

As you’re writing your video description, be sure to include a link to your website or blog. For Google ranking purposes, a YouTube link to your website is considered a backlink (which means more Google juice for your website).

The description of a YouTube video gets cut off at around the third line, so be sure to put the link at the top of the video description.

#4: Customize the Video Thumbnail

Your video thumbnail is the face of your video. It’s the first thing viewers look at when your video comes up in search, so it really has to wow them.

Customized video thumbnails outperform YouTube’s automatically selected screenshot every time. Grainy screenshots from the middle of your video don’t instill faith in viewers that your video is the one to click on.

Take the time to create a custom, attractive thumbnail that conveys what your video is about. For best results, your thumbnail should have a 1280 x 720 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Wrapping Up

Choosing the right keywords; incorporating them into your title, description and tags; and customizing your video thumbnail make a big difference in your YouTube traffic and success.

You can get even more traffic by promoting your video across all of your social media profiles to reach as many people as possible.

Making your video accessible from multiple sources helps influencers find your video and, fingers crossed, promote or source it on their own platforms. Those links and embeds tell YouTube (and Google) that your content is popular, which pushes you up the SERP ladder and into higher YouTube search results.

Now all you need is good content, but that’s the easy part, right?
